August 1st, 2023 a young newly married couple needed answers. Bryce Thompson was a struggling entreprenuer trying to get gigs to pay off debt and continue pursuing his DJ career. His wife, Imani, just decided to quit her grade-school teaching career, to pursue leading young Christian women with biblical principles. They needed to find a way to bring their worlds together so that they were not divided in commitments. Bryce pulled from his idea journal and felt the nudge to try out an event idea he had for years.

 

This event was focused on bringing together Christian entrepreneurs, creatives, and community seekers. His hope was that the first event would feel like a gospel karaoke night. He called it “Joyful Noize” because he envisioned voices cracking in unison as everyone sang their favorite Gospel song. The name sparked inspiration and he formulated a logo, color scheme, and plan that stayed tucked away unitl it was time.

 

With his wife’s skillful leadership skills, he put her in charge of leading the volunteers, while he focused on the entertainment portion. They utilized their experience, their love for hosting people at their apartment and brought that small-home hangout feel to the event. It was a hit! The first event was September 15th, 2023, hosting 100 people in a small Orlando photography studio. This great success started a snowball of 17+ impactful events that has continued to reach people every month since then. They’ve been full-time in running the Joyful Noize business since that event and have no plans in stopping.
